Weekends of wonder at the Sevens
Towards the end of 2023, a revamped HSBC SVNS series got underway with the season-opening weekend in Dubai. Adaptations for this year’s series have seen the total number of men’s teams reduced from 16 to 12, bringing it in line with the women’s series and the Paris 2024 Olympics format.
And for the first time ever, every event features a men’s and women’s tournament with equal participation fees. We are proud to have been on the ground in both Dubai and Perth during the early stages of the tournament, helping bring each event to life. Find out more below.
Emirates Dubai 7s
The 13th HSBC Dubai Rugby SVNS Series returned last December, and from grassroots rugby to the elite level, the weekend had a little bit of everything. Dan Carter, Bryan Habana, Danielle Waterman, and Abby Gustaitis were on hand to engage and spend time with the public across the entire event.
We were responsible for delivering a guest management system across the Hexagon Suite, with 684 guests attending the VIP experience over the weekend. We delivered and managed the Premier Lounge, with a total of 3,151 guests attending over the Saturday and Sunday. On site, we were responsible for managing general admission ticketing distribution and process for HSBC, as well as all ground logistics e.g. transport, accommodation, and dinners for HSBC senior leadership.
We were also responsible for managing the HSBC Ball-Carriers program, where five lucky young children had the opportunity to run onto the field for their minute-of-fame in the knockout rounds of the professional games. The first event of the new look SVNS Series saw South Africa and Australia coming out victorious in their respective male and female sides of the tournament.

HSBC 7s Perth
Perth was a brand new destination on the SVNS calendar, and what a debut it was. Our team in Australia were responsible for delivering the Rugby Drills & Skills Community Event held in partnership with Rugby Western Australia, which saw more than 150 kids register to participate and launch the HSBC SVNS tournament.
Over the weekend we delivered HSBC Hospitality across the three days, with 280 guests hosted in the HSBC Hex Suite, bolstered by a stellar ambassador line up including Bryan Habana, Alicia Quirk, Michaela Leonard and Adam Ashley Cooper.
On site, we were responsible for managing the HSBC ticketing process and guest registration, the HSBC Hex Suite ambassador schedule, entertainment and catering, the HSBC Hot Seat delivery and management – enjoyed by 320 guests, as well as all ground logistics such as transport, accommodation, travel and team logistics. Perth proved a fitting host for HSBC SVNS 2024 as Argentina men and Ireland women won the inaugural Cup finals at HBF Park following three enthralling days of rugby.
