Freshening up Barstool Sport’s Chiclets Cup
Barstool Sports came to our Production team looking for fresh concepts to liven up the outdoor space and activation areas at its “Chiclets Cup” street hockey festival taking place in Buffalo, NY. Barstool was looking to take this event to the next level and continue building on the momentum of their Spittin’ Chiclets hockey brand.
The initial ideas involved bringing in a mobile bar and fabricating custom hockey skee-ball units, alongside an entrance arch, Toja Grid for the beer garden area, and stage set. After reviewing these options with the client, we were able to hone in on multiple creative ways to bring additional branding opportunities for two of the key sponsors for the Chiclets Cup; Pink Whitney Vodka and Labatt beer. This led to the idea of building “Penalty Box” bars and an oversized “Goalie Photo Backdrop.”
These elements gave our in-house fabrication ship the opportunity to shine, with the 3D Hockey Puck the star of the show. Taking inspiration from previous stage designs, we also incorporated floating “Chiclets Cup” letters above the stage for added impact.
While conceptualizing and building these elements, we also learned that Barstool’s in-market vendor who was supposed to be providing audio services for the space had been slow to respond, giving us the chance to provide additional services. The technical production team was up to the task and were able to provide Barstool with an audio package for the event.
With the final concepts hashed out, the crew worked closely with the client finalizing creative and fabrication for all the elements in the space, reaching out to vendors, and getting orders ready. By the time the truck left our site, nearly every department had played a role in ensuring Chiclets Cup was going to be a success.
The Chiclets Cup Buffalo was a smash hit that will further cement our burgeoning relationship with Barstool Sports.
