Driving equity, access and opportunity
After a summer-long journey of nearly 10,000 miles, Production wrapped up the second season of the five-stop Underrated Golf Tour with the Curry Cup, held at Lake Merced Country in San Francisco.
A purpose-driven business endeavour, Underrated Golf, the brainchild of NBA Superstar Stephen Curry, and presented by new title sponsor KPMG, is committed to providing equity, access and opportunity to student athletes from every community by balancing participation in the game of golf to truly reflect our society.
The 25-golfer field featured the top 12 boys and girls, (along with 2022 Champion Ashley Shaw), who all competed at the first four tour stops of the 2023 season – in West Palm Beach (The Park), Akron (Firestone CC), Las Vegas (Paiute), and Tacoma (Chambers Bay).
Our Production team was responsible for every operational aspect of the tour, from player and family travel arrangements to course set-up and branding, transportation and logistics, audio-visual and more. Each tournament was more than just golf, and featured panel discussions with business leaders and sponsors, eager to impart their wisdom on the next generation.
The Curry Cup finale was the culmination of a summer’s worth of hard work for both the golfers and the production team. A star-studded affair that saw attendance from LPGA Tour Golfer Mariah Stackhouse, LPGA Golfer Lydia Ko, MLB Legends Bobby Bonilla and Barry Bonds, Davidson Basketball Coach Bob McKillop, and of course, the man himself, Stephen Curry. The 2023 Curry Cup was captured by Lucky Cruz of Magnolia, Texas and Roisin Scanlon of Woburn, England.
“Unbelievable work ethic! Thank you all for everything and your hard work didn’t go unnoticed!” remarked one parent of a first-year player on the tour about the Production team’s work. “This crew was amazing all year round,” remarked another. “Thank you for all that you do to make this tour the best ever!“
