New programme to discover next cycling superstar
Two-time Tour De France winners, UAE Team Emirates, returned to the UAE recently to celebrate an emphatic season and attend numerous partner and sponsor activations. One of the main focuses for the team was the ADNOC Accelerator Program; a first of its kind talent ID program launched to unearth the next Emirati Cycling Superstar.
Open to the best talent across the UAE, the three-day programme saw the gifted youngsters go head-to-head with one another across five different challenges, testing both power and endurance, as well as their tactical nous in high-pressure situations.
Carried out under the watchful eye of UAE Team Emirates’ high performance coaching team and senior management staff, the riders were put through their paces over the course of the three days. Slovenian starlet Tadej Pogacar and Emirati pro Yousif Mirza were on hand to further enhance the competitiveness of each challenge whilst also acting as a bounce board of insight and experience for the Emirati stars of tomorrow.
An enthralling three days culminated with the winner (and two wildcards) being invited to join a year-long development program with UAE Team Emirates, underwritten by ADNOC, which will include access to UAE Team Emirates’ coaches and nutritionists and the opportunity to attend official training camps throughout 2023, starting with a 10-day winter camp in Spain this December.
From ideation to production, briefs to on the ground management, our team worked closely with longstanding client ADNOC and a local production house to capture the build up to the program and the momentous three days.
Stay tuned as the program will be aired across the GCC as a documentary ahead of the UAE Tour next year.
